FAQs
Do I really need a U.S. address or agent?
Yes. As of July 7, 2025, the FAA requires all certificate holders living outside the U.S. to either have a physical U.S. address or designate an Agent for Service. Without one, you cannot legally exercise the privileges of your certificate.
What exactly is an “Agent for Service”?
An Agent for Service is a person or company in the U.S. responsible for receiving official FAA correspondence on your behalf — including legal notices and safety-critical updates.
What happens if I don’t comply?
You risk losing the legal ability to fly under your FAA certificate. The FAA may also pursue enforcement actions under Order 2150.3, which could include fines or other penalties.
Is a P.O. Box acceptable?
No. The FAA requires a physical street address. P.O. boxes, mail drops, and virtual mailbox services are not allowed under the rule.
Do you notify me if something arrives?
Yes. You’ll receive an email alert anytime a document arrives, as well as a copy of all documents received. We understand that FAA notices can be time-sensitive. We will provide all correspondence to you as soon as we receive it.
Can I change or cancel my service later?
Yes. You can cancel anytime or update your agent information through the FAA system. We also help clients transition smoothly if needed.
How do I update the FAA with my new agent?
You’ll use the FAA’s new US Agent for Service System (USAS). We’ll provide any and all of the details you need to enter during sign-up.
Do you offer support if I need help with the FAA system?
Absolutely. We’re happy to walk you through the USAS portal and ensure your agent information is correctly submitted.
